During both stages of my studies I also learnt about Composition and Music Theory along-side my main studies. I have obtained the ABRSM Diploma Of Teaching, specialising in Strings.
What kind of experience do you have?

Where do you teach?
I am based in Hearne Hill and teach in and around South London - areas such as South Kensington, Lancaster gate, Chelsea, Notting Hill, City of London, Clapham, Greenwich and Blackheath.

Due to the freelance nature of my work, my working week is flexible and lesson times can be suited to the student.

I specialise in teaching adults but all ages are welcome!
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare students for ABRSM exams, concerts and auditions.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I work in a secondary school and have been fully DBS checked.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a member of the Musicians Union.
Where and with whom did you train?
I studied at both the Royal College of Music, London and at the Royal Welsh College of Music, Cardiff. My tutors included Jon Thorne (Bake Quartet) and Philip Hayman (WNO). I have performed in master classes and coaching with players from the Chilingirian Quartet, the Eroica Quartet and with Simon Rowland-Jones and Lawrence Power amongst others.
Tell me about some of your current students.
My current students range from teenagers to Adults. Many of my students are working towards ABRSM exams in the near future while I take a more flexible approach with other students; helping them prepare orchestral and chamber works. My teaching style is focused on solid technique and musicality. Equally as important is enabling students to be able to practice wisely, efficiently and interdependently.
Do you have a personal message for students?
All I can ask for from my students is that they are keen to learn and take the time to practice during the week. You will find some things difficult, this is only natural in the process of learning a skill, so perseverance and determination are vital! I look forward to hearing form you!
