Personal Message
A busy and experienced freelance violinist and teacher, I am more than aware that every student is different in their personality and response to teaching. As a result, every lesson is tailored individually to the student and their needs.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach violin, viola and piano as well as music theory.
Tell me about your qualifications.
University of Birmingham - Bachelor of Music
Goldsmiths College, University of London - Masters in Performance and Related Studies
What kind of experience do you have?
I have ten years experience teaching all three instruments to students from the age of six to eighteen as well as university students and adult learners. I have taught students from beginner to advanced levels and am comfortable teaching syllabi for both the Associated Board and Trinity examinations. I also currently work as an education co-ordinator for The Amadè Players, delivering large-scale education projects and workshops to school children across South-East London and introducing them to historically-informed performance.
How much do you charge?
1 hour lesson = £30

45mins lesson = £25

30mins lesson = £20

Depending on location, there may be a travel cost of £5 in addition to the fee.
Where do you teach?
Areas that I currently teach in include Brockley, Deptford, East Dulwich, Forest Hill, Greenwich, Herne Hill, Honor Oak Park, Lewisham, New Cross, Nunhead, Sidcup and Sydenham. Even if you don't live in one of these areas but are interested in having lessons, please feel free to contact me.
When are you available?
I am flexible in my arrangements and am happy to teach weekdays during the day and evenings. If you would like a weekend lesson, please feel free to contact me to discuss this. I like to fix a regular time each week but this might vary according to my performing engagements.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages; I have students from the age of six up to to adults. You are never too old to learn an instrument!

I teach violin and viola from beginners to advanced whilst I teach piano from beginner to approximately grade 5 standard.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I teach both the Associated Board and Trinity exam syllabi although exams are completely optional.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes, I hold several up-to-date enhanced DBS/CRB certificates.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I am happy to teach violin and viola lessons for students approx. grade 2 and above via Skype. Please get in touch for further information.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
Musicians Union
Where and with whom did you train?
I studied at Birmingham University and Goldsmiths College with Dr. Devorina Gamalova. I have also studied with Peter Poole, Levine Andrade and Khac-Uyen Nguyen as well as participating in masterclasses with Nathaniel Vallois, Nic Pendlebury, Matthew Trusler, Nick Fallowfield, Susanne Stanzaleit and Alexander Ivashkin.
Do you have a personal message for students?
It doesn't matter whether you are a complete beginner or if you have studied in the past and would like to make a return to lessons. Anybody can learn to play an instrument, from young children to adults. It's never too late to learn! As an instrumental teacher, I relish the opportunity of being able to share my passion for the subject and hopefully, in doing so, inspire the next generation of musicians.
