We teach in small groups, no more than six children per class. We believe valuable and beneficial tuition is achieved by building a good relationship with students through ongoing motivation.
11 Plus tuition requires careful preparation beforehand: many people assume there child can be prepared three months before the exam. As the competition continues to grow year by year for this exam solid preparation is the key to success for this process. Each year group will have a separate class.
- Ages and Levels Covered
We focus on ensuring that children are fully prepared for academic learning. As well as covering the core English and Maths subjects we also aim to confidentially teach students a rich and valuable vocabulary which is not only aimed for the 11 plus exam but also for excellent writing skills. Currently, classes are only run for KS1 and KS2 children.

Friday = 4.30pm - 6.30 pm
Saturday = 9.30am - 11.30am

Sunday = 10.00am -12.00pm
12.30pm - 2.30pm

- Additional Information
The children will actively be taught by staff who will have fully prepared work week by week alongside a moderate amount of homework which will be marked. All corrections will be fully explained to the child.
All children are assessed beforehand to discover the level they are currently working towards. Staff will ensure that the level of support and guidance they receive enables them to become confident. Additional work may be provided to complete at home in order to catch up.
11 plus classes will run for children in year 3, year 4, year 5 and year 6 and for those children who wish to sit the independent school tests. Each year group will have work according to their level and of course at Star Tuition Academy our aim is to support children far beyond the 11 plus syllabus. Additionally, we aim to work alongside parents whereby we constantly communicate with parents or carers. We will always support parents with the explanations and suggestions required to ensure their child achieves the best they can.
