Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach classical music - piano, practical musicianship, viva voce, theory/composition and music theory (ABRSM exams), and GCSE music. For academics, I also teach IELTS English, having scored 8 myself in 2012, and essay writing (for history, literature and music). I can teach in English (my first and main language) and Mandarin Chinese. Tell me about your qualifications.
BMus (Hons) [ongoing] from Royal College of Music, London [2016] - I have so far attained Class I for almost all modules in first and second year. I completed four years of education in the top girls' school (Raffles Girls' Secondary School) in Singapore, which is higher than GCSE level.
Completed first year curriculum of University of Birmingham while in the Raffles Academy (Music) programme in Raffles Girls' Secondary School (Singapore) - I attained Class I for performance and composition
LRSM in Piano Performance
DipABRSM in Piano Performance (Distinction)
ABRSM Grade 8 piano with high distinction score of 142
ABRSM Grade 8 violin with distinction
ABRSM Grade 8 Music Theory

What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught and mentored students for piano, violin and theory across all ages and levels, including a fellow college student. I was concertmistress of my high school string ensemble, and have a lot of experience with ABRSM graded exams, competitions and concerts.

Performance experiences include:
In Singapore: full solo recital at Esplanade Recital Studio, and in London - Steinway Hall, St-Martin-in-the-Fields, St Mary-Abbots Church, Royal College of Music. Concerto appearance with the Lydian Orchestra in Sevenoaks. Recital in Pallant House Gallery, Sussex.

Competition successes include:

How much do you charge?
Beginner and Grades 1-3 piano and ABRSM music theory: £25
Grades 4-5 piano and ABRSM music theory: £27
Grades 6-7 piano and ABRSM music theory and adult casual learning: £30
Grades 8 and above piano and ABRSM music theory: £35

Consultation lessons for any level or subject: £10
Where do you teach?
I teach at home, in South Kensington SW7. There are Yamaha upright pianos I can teach on where I stay, and for students who want to better prepare themselves before a performance I can arrange for a lesson on Steinway grand piano.
When are you available?
From mid September 2014 onwards:
Weekends (11am-5pm), and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays (except for evenings). Schedule is flexible and negotiable upon enquiry. Available during school holidays as well.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
Any age above age 6. Beginner to advanced or degree levels for piano and music theory.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
Casual, ABRSM or Trinity exams, competitions and concerts as well as school exams (GCSE etc)
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
No, but I am willing to get one if required.
Where and with whom did you train?
I am currently studying at the Royal College of Music with Professor John Byrne as an RCM Scholar. Previously trained with Professor Albert Tiu of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore, and Fang Yuan at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. I have performed in masterclasses with acclaimed pianists such as Kenneth Hamilton, Barry Douglas, Julian Jacobson and Thomas Hecht.
Tell me about some of your current students.
One of my current students, aged 7 is now working on Grade 3 material after completing Grade 1 with distinction, one is working on a more casual basis on an intermediate level, and another is preparing for Grade 2. I also currently teach an adult casual learner. I've had experience teaching adult learners and more advanced, older children as well. I occasionally also currently mentor a fellow college student.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I am patient, serious, responsible and will cater lessons to suit individual needs. I also have a very good memory for lesson material and a systematic planning of lesson structure!
