I am currently studying at the Royal College of Music with Professor John Byrne as an RCM Scholar. Previously trained with Professor Albert Tiu of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore, and Fang Yuan at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. I have performed in masterclasses with acclaimed pianists such as Kenneth Hamilton, Barry Douglas, Julian Jacobson and Thomas Hecht.
Tell me about some of your current students.
One of my current students, aged 7 is now working on Grade 3 material after completing Grade 1 with distinction, one is working on a more casual basis on an intermediate level, and another is preparing for Grade 2. I also currently teach an adult casual learner. I've had experience teaching adult learners and more advanced, older children as well. I occasionally also currently mentor a fellow college student.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I am patient, serious, responsible and will cater lessons to suit individual needs. I also have a very good memory for lesson material and a systematic planning of lesson structure!
