Recorder

Please, please don't consider recorder playing to be solely a preparation for learning a 'proper' instrument.

The recorder has a long history and as such, has a wide and varied repertoire.  It is most versatile and can be used both as a solo instrument and in a chamber music setting - there is nothing better than playing in a recorder consort!  Try to listen to recordings of established players or, better still, to attend concerts - hunt out performances by Red Priest or the Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet.

There is so much more to the recorder than London's Burning...
