About Katherine

- What kind of experience do you have?

I am a specialist classically trained singing teacher with experience of teaching within London primary and secondary schools. My current work experience includes working as a singing teacher at two London secondary schools. In these roles I am required to prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity/Guildhall instrumental grade exams as well as G.C.S.E and A-Level performance exams. In addition to individual and group vocal tuition I also direct the chamber choir at one of my schools. In addition to this experience I also have experience as a singing workshop tutor having taught at various primary schools in London. As a private vocal tutor for the past two years teaching pupils from ages 9 to adults and I have covered a variety of different vocal styles from pop and jazz to classical. I have taught beginners through to advanced pupils of grade 8 standard. Many of my current students are working towards ABRSM exams and I have taught theory of music to those students. As well as private teaching, I recently completed 4 months working in New York as a vocal coach for the French Woods Festival of Performing Arts. As a vocal coach I taught vocal technique individually and to groups 6 days a week, and in addition I worked as a vocal coach for four fully staged musical productions. The Festival encourages international applications from children aged 6 to teenagers aged up to 17. I taught musical theatre, but I also taught opera and classical to a few selected students for state college music auditions. I taught beginners as well as advanced students.
