About Alastair
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have performed in orchestras and bands since middle school and continued through my degree to widen my knowledge and experience of musical styles. Following my degree I worked in Wells Cathedral School as Music Technology Assistant where I honed my recording techniques and got more experience of teaching.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have recently submitted a DBS appilication.

A friendly, outgoing guy, I've experienced many sides of the music industry from playing, writing, recording and producing. Music has been my life for as long as I know and I'm excited about passing on my knowledge to eager students.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
Electric bass guitar, trombone, music recording and music theory (based on piano)
- Tell me about your qualifications.
ABRSM Grade 8 on piano and trombone, Music degree from the University of Bristol.
- How much do you charge?
£20/hour plus transport costs within London up to £7. Travel beyond London will be considered.
- Where do you teach?
I teach from my home in Hanwell but am willing to travel to anywhere in West London.
- When are you available?
Available most evenings after 6pm and weekends.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I have taught teenagers through to pensioners, absolute beginners to more advanced players. Contact me to discuss your requirements and I'll see what I can do for you.
