About Alice
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been playing the piano for fifteen years and have been in a number of professional Classic Rock and Funk/Jazz bands throughout this time. I have been teaching in Brighton for a year now, and I have a 100% student pass rate. As students are often less enthralled by standard workbooks I have compiled a growing collection of my own accessible arrangements of relevant pieces, often on student request.

I have a DBS certificate which I can produce if required!

I'm passionate about modern music from Jazz to, to rock and pop, to film music and I enjoy arranging custom level pieces for my students. It's so important to teach music that appeals to them to keep them inspired and motivated.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Jazz, Contemporary, Rock, Pop and up to intermediate Classical along with the music composition and theory.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have completed all ABRSM Jazz grades 1-5 with Distinction, and graduated with a BA Honours in Music at the University of Chichester.
- How much do you charge?
I offer a free half hour taster session to get an idea of a students' tastes and ability, and from then on I charge £25.00 for an hour and £15.00 for half an hour.
- Where do you teach?
I currently teach at my students' houses. I'm available to travel within the Brighton and Hove area. If you are unsure about your area please enquire.
- When are you available?
I'm available from late morning to evening on weekdays, and I teach several Saturdays per month. I'm incredibly flexible on school holidays, understanding that children will be off to different clubs, sleepovers and holiday destinations!
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages, from 6 plus. Adults are very welcome as I have space during school hours to fill!
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I am happy to teach the early Classical ABRSM grades and all Jazz grades, as well as the newer Rockschool syllabus. I am also able to tutor my students through their Music GCSE and A Level.
