This is my biography:

Violinist Alma Olite, born in Pamplona, has established herself as one of the most interesting Spanish artists of her generation. Not least her award as the most distinguished student of Prof. Zakhar Bron's Chair given by Queen Sofia of Spain in 2009 is giving evidence of that.
At the age of only eight years, Ms. Olite presented herself for the first time with a recital to an audience. Since then, she has been performing concerts as soloist and chamber music player throughout Spain and in many countries around the world, among them Germany, Switzerland, France, England, Netherlands, Poland and several countries of Latin America.
Before entering the world famous Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid to study with Prof. Zakhar Bron and his assistant Yuri Volguin, during the years 2005-2011, Ms. Olite received her musical education at the conservatory of Zaragoza with Maria Luisa Serrano and also under the direction of Valeri Gazarian. During her training in Madrid she received musical impulses also by famous artists like Vadim Repin, Leonidas Kavakos, Ana Chumachenco, Silvia Marcovici and Kolja Blacher among others.
Participating in National and International violin competitions, Ms. Olite has been awarded with major prizes, among others the 1st Prize at Vila de Salou Competition, the 1st Prize at Teodoro Ballo Competition, the 2nd Prize at Juventudes Musicales de España and the Bronze Medal at the International Wieniawski-Lipinski Competition.
Ms. Olite finished her studies as a Master Student Specialized in Soloist Performance at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in Zürich, under the direction of Prof. Zakhar Bron (2011-2013).
During her studies in Madrid Ms. Olite was the 1st violinist of the Albeniz Quartet, which was awarded as the most distinguished string quartet for 3 years, in the Chairs of Rainer Schmidt, Alastair Tait and Heime Müller. They played several concerts throughout Spain and Latin America. They also obtained the opportunity to work intensively with all the members of the Alban Berg Quartet, Belcea Quartet and also with Rainer Schmidt, Walter Levin, Menahem Pressler and Ferenc Rados among others.
During the years 2013 and 2014, Ms. Olite joined as a second violin the Jubilee Quartet based in London. In September 2014 they won the 2nd prize at the Karol Szymanowski International Quartet Competition in Katowice (Poland). The quartet made many tours around England (with two remarkable concerts in the Wigmore Hall), Italy, Germany and Spain. They had their studies in the "Instituto de Cámara" of Madrid with Prof. Günter Pichler and in the "Hochschule für Musik" in Basel with Prof. Rainer Schmidt. They were selected as "Quartet in Residence" in Aldeburgh (February 2014) and on the same year in August they participated in the prestigious MISQA (McGill International String Quartet Academy) in Canada.
Ms. Olite is a passionate performer of 20th century's music. It is also important to her to bring contemporary pieces to the public, having played works by Kaija Saariaho, Tomás Marco, David del Puerto, Javier Soler, Edward Nesbit… Recently she has performed the world premiere of „Nosferatu“, a piece dedicated to her by the Spanish composer Antonio Ballestín.
As well, she likes to collaborate regularly in social concerts as the project “Musethica” from Spain and the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation “Live Music Now” from Switzerland. She has done recordings for Radio Nacional de Epaña, Telemadrid, Radio Televisión Española and the BBC. Between 2006 and 2010 she enjoyed the scholarship for artists at the Residencia de Estudiantes de Madrid.
