About Philippa
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have worked as a private tutor over the past three years. My main focus has been for Oxbridge preparation although I am experienced in tutoring Biology and Chemistry for A-Level. I also have experience teaching english as a foreign language to University students in Kobe, Japan.
Oxford and Cambridge Summer Camps Abroad (OSCA) Jan 2012 - Jan 2013

Plan the teaching structure with Hyogo International Association for volunteers on the 2012 camp, coordinate logistical matters with volunteers and check all of their lesson plans.
Teach English at Kobe Women's University and Hyogo University.
Support teachers both professionally and pastorally.
Achievements:
Wrote a camp report detailing ways to improve the camp that will be put into practice next year.

OSCA is a charitable organisation aiming to provide Asian students high quality English lessons.

Prepare lesson plans to encourage English speaking at schools and universities in Japan.
To represent the UK at Hyogo International Association (HIA) cultural exchange events.
Work as part of an 8 strong team to coordinate lessons and drama activities to deliver the best English speaking lessons as possible.
Achievements:
Chosen from 400 other applicants to teach English in Japan.
Successfully delivered over 120 hours of English lessons, engaged with Japanese participants fully and began to learn some Japanese.
Recommended by HIA to OSCA for Directorship the following year.
