I am a friendly, experienced and imaginative cello teacher for any level that aims to make all lessons fun, engaging and productive.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach classical cello for any age from the beginner to advanced student. I can use materials that incorporate jazz and pop pieces if this is something the student is keen on. I also teach music theory alongside the cello to support what the student is learning to play on the instrument.
I teach general musicianship as well, to develop the musical ear and a good sense of rhythm and pitch.
I like to talk about the "Alexander Technique" in lessons to help build good balance and a relaxed posture which is so important for playing an instrument.
I also incorporate some dalcroze eurhythmics into my teaching as I think this is brilliant for developing a good feel for pulse and rhythm in music.
As a performer I have played at the Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, on the Southbank, St Martin's in the Field and the London Coliseum. All students encouraged to attend concerts!

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I am a graduate from the Purcell School of Music and have ABRSM grade 8 distinction for cello. I graduated from the Bachelor of Music course at Royal College of Music in 2009 with First Class Honours.
I graduated from the Masters in Performance Course at the RCM in 2011 with a distinction.

- How much do you charge?

I charge £35 an hour and £25 for half an hour

- Where do you teach?

I teach from my home in Streatham.

- When are you available?

I am available at the weekends (Saturday mornings and Sundays usually best) and during the week after school. I can also teach during school holidays if I am in London and students would like to continue with lessons. My availability is fairly flexible as I work odd hours rather than the usual 9-5 so I can also teach during the day if needs be.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I can teach all levels and any age.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

I can prepare students for any level of Associated Board Music exams if this is something they would like to work towards. I did ABRSM exams as a child and really enjoyed having that goal but they aren't necessarily the right thing for everyone.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

Music is so much fun and can be really fulfilling. With practice and positivity you will be playing the cello in no time, I look forward to hearing from you!
