- Hi, I am a professional freelance double bass player, and teach both the double bass and piano privately. I would like to invite new students who are interested in learning the piano or double bass to contact me, complete beginners are most welcome!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach the piano and double bass.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a BMusHons from the Royal Academy of Music and The Juilliard School (New York), and a LRAM Teaching Diploma.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have 6 years experience teaching private pupils aged 4-adult. I have also taught at the Royal Academy of Music Junior School, and have deputised at a number of Saturday Schools. I have coached children at Summer Schools, coached chamber ensembles and taught aural.
- How much do you charge?
- Piano: £35 per hour or £20 for 30 mins, Double Bass: £40 per hour. I charge £5 to travel to your home, if you cannot come for a lesson at my house.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach mostly from my home in West Dulwich, but can travel to surrounding areas, for example, East Dulwich, Peckham, Sydenham, Nunhead, Herne Hill, Clapham.
- When are you available?
- My times are flexible, due to the nature of my work. In general, I teach on weekday afternoons, but can teach in the mornings or evenings also. I do not teach at weekends.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- Preferably ages 7 - adult, but I will consider ages 4-6, it really depends on the individual and their levels of concentration and enthusiasm!
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I prepare my students for ABRSM exams. I currently have a 100% pass rate with my students having received merits or distinctions in all their exams.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I have a current up-to-date CRB certificate which I can present on request.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I studied at the Royal Academy of Music, and The Juilliard School in New York.
