- What kind of experience do you have?
I held the post of 2nd trombone with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra from 2002-2007. Since moving to the UK, I have performed with many prominent orchestras across the EU including the BBC Scottish Symphony, the Hallé in Manchester, Europa Philharmonie in Pforzeim, Germany, the Scottish Ballet, the Gävle Symphony orchestra in Gävle, Sweden, the City of London Sinfonia and the AIMS Festival Orchestra in Graz, Austria.
Since 2010, I have been a tutor for the Ealing Music Service, where I specialise in brass instruments and early musical development on the recorder and piano. Additionally, I am a tutor at Questors Young Musicians Club, a Saturday morning music club in Ealing.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes, I have a full CRB Disclosure through Ealing Music Service.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I studied at Duquesne University in the USA, and my teachers were Peter Sullivan and Murray Crewe (principal trombonist and bass trombonist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra).
In London, I studied at the Royal Academy of Music, where my teachers were Denis Wick (former principal, London Symphony Orchestra) Ian Bousfield (principal, Vienna Philharmonic) and Dudley Bright (principal, London Symphony Orchestra)
- Tell me about some of your current students.
My class of pupils actually consists of a pretty wide range of ages and backgrounds. I have several pupils preparing for ABRSM Exams as well as a couple adult students who are learning new instruments as a hobby. I am currently a tutor for the Ealing Music Service where I teach brass and piano lessons. Additionally, I am the brass instructor at Questors Young Musicians' Club in Ealing where I teach all brass instruments. I additionally have several beginner piano students who I am helping to develop the first stages of their musical training.
