About Georgina
- What kind of experience do you have?
As a freelance performer, I work regularly for a number of UK orchestras such as the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, City of London SInfonia, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and for opera and ballet orchestras such as the Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Opera North, Glyndebourne, Garsington, and many others.
I enjoy all kinds of music, and have also performed with many rock and popular artists, and also often recording sessions for TV and Radio.
I have won a number of awards and competitions as a soloist, and have experience across the whole spectrum of music making.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I do not have a current DBS, but am very happy to obtain one if a parent prefers.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I trained at Trinity College of Music, with Chris West, Neil Tarlton and Leon Bosch. Before attending music college, I studied with Tony Hougham (principal bass, Royal Opera House).
I studied flute with international soloist Wissam Boustany.

I am a professional, London-based musician, working with a variety of orchestras. I enjoy teaching all ages, and all levels.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach classical double bass from beginner to grade 8 and beyond.
I teach all levels of flute, from beginner to post grade 8.
I teach music theory from beginner to Grade 8.
I teach violin from beginner to Grade 5 only.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I studied double bass and flute at Trinity College of Music for two years. After this, I chose to focus on the double bass, and was awarded a BMus (hons) in double bass performance in 2012. I then completed a postgraduate diploma in performance, and was awarded a PGD from Trinity College of Music in 2013.
I also have A Levels in Music, Psychology and Drama, and 12 GCSES (all A * -C).
- How much do you charge?
Hourly - £30
Half Hourly - £20
I am happy to discuss other rates for different time periods if neccessary.
- Where do you teach?
I either teach at my home in Island Gardens (near to Greenwich and Canary Wharf), where we have a designated music room with piano. I am happy to travel to students homes within reason. Any journey outside of an hours travel would be subject to a negotiable travel fee.
- When are you available?
I am very flexible, and like to work lessons at a time that best suits students and their families, and also fits in with my schedule. I am happy to teach during school holidays.
