A recent graduate of the prestigious Guildhall School of Music, I am a professional pianist who has over 6 years of experience teaching a wide range of ages and a reputation for being friendly and patient.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach all types of beginner piano music for any age. This can be for general building of technique, learning standard classical repertoire or learning more popular/jazz music. With a very practical method of teaching, children and adults can learn how to perform (not just play) a selection of enjoyable pieces within a relatively short period of time. Even if you can't read music, this will all be included in your learning. I also teach jazz to more advanced classical pianists (including degree students). This will involve more of a harmonic approach, and learning how to transfer their skills to improvising.
I am happy to tutor students to ABRSM level should they wish to take exams.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

Recent graduate of the Guildhall School of Music - BMus (Hons) Jazz Piano. 5 A levels. Grade 8 Piano + Cello.
Over 7 years teaching experience.

- How much do you charge?

£35 per hour, £25 per half hour. Group sessions (I will happily teach up to four pupils in one group) are charged at £55 per hour, £35 per half hour.

- Where do you teach?

I do most of my teaching at home. In some cases I will travel - best to get in contact to discuss this.

- When are you available?

My availability changes regularly so it's best to get in contact to arrange a time. As a guide, evenings on mon & wed, Daytime on tues, thurs. I can also teach weekends in some cases.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

All types of piano music from beginner level at all ages. This will include learning how to read music too. Also, I will teach jazz to more advanced classical pianists.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I can offer tutoring for theory and composition over skype. An email contract will be drawn up for this to protect both parties - payment will be required upfront through paypal.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

As a teacher I welcome any ideas a student may have. If there is a particular style a student wishes to study and work on then I am open to anything. I am polite, friendly and very patient and will adapt to a student's pace but at the same time stretch them to bring out the best of their ability and to ensure good progress.
