German native, Russian near native, Lived from 1994 to 2004 in Russia. I have been living in the UK since 2004. My first profession is working as a journalist, but I have always liked teaching.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach German, Russian and Judo.
Tell me about your qualifications.
PhD in Philology, MA in Slavic Studies, East European history and journalism.
What kind of experience do you have?
Media trainer and teacher in Russia and Uzbekistan from 1997 to 2004. German and Russian teaching in London from 2006 (children, students, adults, business people). Assistent teacher for German and Russian in Woodbridge High School (2007-2008). Russian teacher at Leigh Languages in Buckhurst Hill (from 2007 to present). German assistent teacher at Bancroft School, Woodford Green (2011).
How much do you charge?
All prices come with plus 5£ if I am travelling to the students home. Discounts for group lessons or children or sibblings can be discussed.
Where do you teach?
I prefer teaching in my house. Seperate quite room. I can also teach in Woodford Green, South Woodford, Leytonstone, Chigwell, Loughton, Epping.
When are you available?
After-school tuition lessons in the week are now available! Please do not book last minute before the exams! I can organize weekend workshops. I do holiday workshops and seminars.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages, all levels, preferred GCSE and A level.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes.
Tell me about some of your current students.
Many of my students pass their exams with A or A*. I also have long term students.
Do you have a personal message for students?
My motto is not only to teach the language but to understand the Germans and Russians. Within the framework of GCSE and A level I will always find time for my students to have fun to learn the language telling life stories, reading literature and press in German and Russian, even offer language trips to Germany and Russia.
