Personal Message
Since a young age I have been passionate about music and have decided to dedicate my life to sharing the subject with others.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I am primarily a piano tutor, but in order to teach my students to a high quality of performance, they must understand the technical aspects of music; that being music theory.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I studied music at Colchester Institute winning the Cannon Jack Award for Solo Piano in 2009, coming 2nd Place in the Roy Teed Cup for Composition in 2010. There I graduated my Music Bachelor Degree with honors in 2010, completing my teacher training (PGCE) the following year.
What kind of experience do you have?
Throughout my life I have absorbed myself in music, starting piano lessons at 4 years old writing my first pieces of music at 6. By the time I had reached my sixth-form studies in music, I was already teaching part time at weekends. It was at that point I decided to dedicate my life to music; performing, composing, and more importantly teaching others.
How much do you charge?
I charge £12.50 for half-hourly lessons and £25.00 for hourly session. The durations of lessons are negotiable to whatever suits my students.
Where do you teach?
I teach predominantly in Colchester (primarily surrounding the town centre). Though my travel is limited I do teach lessons from my home on an upright Yamaha U3 piano.
When are you available?
I am available to teach from:

Monday – Friday
9am – 8pm

Saturday
2pm – 8pm
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach students of all ages and abilities. As I started to learn to play the piano from a very young age, I feel it is good to give the opportunity of piano lessons to everyone, regardless of age.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I use the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) as a template curriculum, adapting the taught material to each student. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to education that has been proven to work as every student is different and responds to music in their own unique way.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I have an up to date CRB certificate (as at September 2010), with no convictions listed.
