About Katherine
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been tutoring for the past year both independently and via top London agencies Bonas Macfarlane and Bright Young Things.
Over the last academic year I have taught students across a variety of exam boards (AQA, OCR, Edexcel) predominantly in Economics and Business Studies, both as a complement to regular lessons throughout the term and as part of more intensive exam preparation.
I pride myself on being able to tailor lesson structure, content and delivery to suit each tutee's specific needs and am pleased to say that each of my students has gone on to exceed or raise their predicted grade.

- Tell me about some of your current students.
M is undertaking GCSE Maths refresher lessons ahead of the new term in order to build confidence in the subject. We are working to introduce topics and their application through a variety of dynamic exercises so that when they come to tackle the subject in class they feel comfortable, allowing them to fully engage and get the most out of the course.
J is currently preparing an AQA extension project in Economics. Through our session he has been able to clarify the subject matter, and understand its application in the broader context of the Economy, and Financial Markets. We have analysed what makes a good essay/presentation and worked on structuring the project in a way which best represents their investigation and its findings.

I have a BSc Hons Degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (Economics major) from the University of Warwick (2:1), and have been working in Investment Banking for the past 3 years, before leaving to pursue my own business interests.

- How much do you charge?
I will usually discuss with the student beforehand what they would like to achieve from the lessons, any topics they are struggling with and find out a little about how they prefer to be taught, so that we can start making progress from the very first session.
GCSE level tuition is charged at £25 per hour, A Level tuition is £30 per hour. Happy to discuss discounts for block bookings.
- Where do you teach?
Based in N1 currently, however can travel within zones 1-3. Prefer to tutor at students' homes.
- When are you available?
Very flexible; available to tutor weekdays and weekends between 8am and 8pm.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Any students currently studying for GCSE and A Levels, regardless of exam board.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Private tuition should be an opportunity for a student to explore a subject in a way which best suits their needs. Whether it be to increase confidence, grades or simply enjoyment of a topic, I will work with the student to help them achieve this goal.
