About Fleur
- What kind of experience do you have?
Besides professional experience in a London office, before turning to private teaching I taught in various private language schools in London. Now, besides private lessons, I also teach at the University of Westminster and City Lit.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have a DBS certificate from my old job, but can request one if needed.

University of Amsterdam (BA), University of Westminster (MA), TEFL London (Trinity TESOL), Oxford House College (DELTA)
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am also a freelance tutor with Cartus Language Solutions and I teach for the University of Westminster and for City Lit and I teach with an agency called Language Services Direct.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
My current students are business men improving their English, people interested in Dutch as a language or the Netherlands as a country, people who have relocated to the UK and are brushing up their English to find a job. They are a range of nationalities; from Russian to Japanese, and English to Brazilian.

- Tell me about your qualifications.
I am a Bachelor of Linguistics and a Master of Arts and have 2 teaching qualifications: a Trinity TESOL diploma and a DELTA diploma.
- How much do you charge?
I do consultation lessons of 30 minutes for £15.
Group lessons are £50 p/h and I take up to four students in a group.
Discounts on my normal rates are available for blocks of ten lessons.
- Where do you teach?
I am based in Kentish Town, but am willing to travel to Central, East London and just South of the river. Lessons mostly take place in a public place, such as a library or a cafe. Under special circumstances I can travel to students' homes or offices.
- When are you available?
I teach all days of the week; Monday to Sunday. Late evening is generally not advisable as this time of the day is not conducive to learning (or teaching).
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach any age and all levels: from complete beginners to advanced learners.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can help prepare for the CELTA and Trinity TESOL certificates.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Online tutoring can take place via Skype; I can send through worksheets which can be done and discussed and I note error corrections in a Word document and send through any corrections in PDF format. Writing can also be sent through, which I can mark and can then be sent back, any corrections, again, can be discussed on Skype if needed.
Skype lessons cost £30 p/h.
