About Phoebe
- What kind of experience do you have?
I graduated in 2013 and since then have gained experience as a tutor and EFL teacher. This summer I taught English to a group of advanced young learners, which was extremely rewarding. I have tutored a range of ages, from students preparing for the 11+ to university students, and some older EFL students. I have helped university students achieve high grades on essays including dissertations.

I am a friendly and well-qualified tutor, with plenty of experience teaching a range of levels. I am a graduate from the University of Manchester and currently work in a library. I love teaching and tutoring and look forward to hearing from you.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
My main focus is writing and essay help, whether at younger ages towards the 11+ all the way up to university level. I am a qualified EFL teacher and attained very high grades in essays and exams all the way through my university career, so I can really help in this department. I offer help with planning and structuring essays, exam prep, and editing help (where appropriate with coursework). As a Music graduate I also tutor in Music at any level, English as a foreign language, and some verbal reasoning and Maths.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I hold a B(Mus) in Music from the University of Manchester (upper second class, 2:1), and a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults). I also studied French, English Literature, and History to A level.
- How much do you charge?
See prices above, plus travel expenses. If more than one student I would offer a discount.
- Where do you teach?
I am based fairly centrally in West London (Paddington) and am able to tutor in this area (Bayswater, Notting Hill, Kensington) and would consider travelling further. Am able to travel to a student's home or arrange a mutually convenient location.
- When are you available?
Very flexible hours: available Wednesday and Thursday evenings, weekdays, and Sundays.

From 11+ to university students and adults.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I am very friendly and warm, and genuinely enjoy teaching. The aim is always to enable students to learn and understand independently but with support.
