About Catherine
- What kind of experience do you have?
I am part of an Arts association and school called Store. In the past year, I have been teaching and curating projects within the association. These projects have ranged from an opera held in Bedford Square as part of the Bloomsbury Festival to small workshops and lectures. I also run a film and poetry series of readings, screenings and talks and have recently published a small magazine of poetry and prose - contributors include Will Self, Alan Jenkins and Chris Petit.

My name is Catherine Hamilton - I am available for private tutoring in London, whether you are preparing for your GCSE's, A Levels or Degree level study or have a special interest in the subject (English Literature / Creative writing).
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach English Language and Literature. I also teach creative and critical writing.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have recently graduated from UCL (University College London) with a degree in English Language and Literature. Since graduating I have been accepted onto several creative and dramatic writing degree courses, including a Masters degree course at Oxford University.
- How much do you charge?
I charge 30-35 pounds an hour, depending on the level and type of study. I also charge extra if a large amount of preparation time is necessary. This will be charged at an hourly rate.
- Where do you teach?
I can teach anywhere in London within zones 1 and 2.
- When are you available?
I am very flexible and will try my best to accommodate the individual schedule of each student.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I can teach students aged 11 and over.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I able to teach GCSE level, A level, and to prepare students for BA/Undergraduate study.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I would be able to offer a very extensive range of sources for students preparing for University entry or students who are currently studying at BA Level. I can supply students with set reading lists from the UCL degree course, give them access to critical essays and specific anthologies and offer extensive exam, essay and interview techniques. I am also very keen to tutor students interested in creative writing - to whom I can give advice on internships and recommend workshops, events and lectures.
