About Sofia
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have worked as an actor in various stage productions in the UK, Mexico and India. Some of these include Twelfth Night, Macbeth, Blood Wedding, Lysistrata and Be Good Revolutionaries. I also have vast experience in Voice Acting and have taken part in film and TV projects. As a writer I have completed my first novel, write articles for Shout Out UK and wrote a script that was made into a feature film (Dreaming About Tulum)
I taught Creative Writing to undergraduate students at Kingston University for a year and have organised various acting workshops in order to prepare students for the arduous Drama School auditioning process. I have taught English to young children with resistance towards reading and writing as well as A level students. For the past year and a half I have been helping to tutor a home schooled 10 year old boy in English, Creative Writing , Spanish and History.

- Where and with whom did you train?
I trained as an actor at Drama Centre London and Lamda. As a writer I trained at Kingston University and had the opportunity to be mentored by Rachel Cusk.

I am currently teaching a 9 year old boy with writing and resistance towards learning. We do fun activities in order to get him to open up to the idea that English, Spanish and Creative Writing can be fun and inspiring.

My name is Sofia and I live in South East London. I'm a writer, actor and teacher. I have extensive experience in private one to one tutoring as well as teaching fun and creative writing and acting workshops.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach a variety of subjects. Creative Writing, English, Drama and Spanish for children from the ages of 6 to University level. History and geography to children from the ages of 6 to 11. Also, I offer coaching for Drama School auditions and help with Lamda exams.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have an MFA in Creative Writing from Kingston University as well as a PGCE. I did a three year BA in Acting course at Drama Centre London and a one year Drama Foundation Course at LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art). Also, I completed a journalism course with ShoutOut UK.
- How much do you charge?
My fixed rate is 30 pounds an hour. This can be negotiated depending on how many hours a week are required and how far I must travel. In some cases I may charge more, depending on the level and the hours that are required. If the student comes to my home the rate is lowered.
- Where do you teach?
I mainly go to students homes but am happy to receive them in my home also. I live in South East London between East Dulwich and Peckham. I'm willing to travel to any other part of South East London as well as East London and Richmond and Twickenham areas.
- When are you available?
My work schedule is very flexible as I am a freelancer. I can adapt to students needs. Generally I'm available during the day and weekends. Afternoons and evenings are also a possibility.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach children from the ages of 6 to 11 as well as teenagers from 13 to 19-20. I have experience with adults in the subjects of Drama, Acting and Spanish.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare students for the Drama School auditioning process.

Online tutoring can be discussed and arranged according to individual needs.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I enjoy teaching very much. Some of the best work I have done in my Acting and Writing career has been because of great and inspirational teachers. I aim to engage with my students and help them discover the passion and interest in the subjects they are learning.
