- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach English (both Literature and Language) to GCSE. I also teach History up to GCSE and I have experience tutoring this subject at degree level.
I am also qualified to teach the new English GCSE exams that were implemented in September 2010. I attended the various courses that were run by OCR, Edexcel and AQA. - Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a degree in English Literary Studies and History.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have experience tutoring privately one-to-one.
I have several years experience working in a local comprehensive school and, for part of that time, I taught Food Technology and also worked with Statemented children aged 11-16 years. - How much do you charge?
- My charges are £25 per hour up to GCSE.
- Where do you teach?
- I only teach from my home.
- When are you available?
- I am reasonably flexible with my days and times both during the week and at weekends. I usually teach in the early evenings during term-time but can change this to day-time during school holidays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach English to children aged 10 years (Key Stage 2) up to 16 years (GCSE - Key Stage 4).
I also teach History to degree level - Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- In the main, the majority of my current students are studying for their GCSEs. However, I do have students in Years 6 to 9.
I have had a 100% A*-C pass rate in GCSE English and History with my previous students. - Do you have a personal message for students?
- I am a friendly and patient tutor. I always speak to the pupil before the first lesson to discuss their exact requirements so that I can prepare the lesson.
I always discuss the student's progress with the parent after each lesson.
