I am teaching a creative writing class and am continuing to cover at school. I have been working with individual students at both GCSE , AS/A2 level and helping with essay writing and proof reading for University Students.

Through my substantial experience as a teacher and examiner I have come to believe that the chance to work one-to-one with a student enables them to come to a deeper understanding of their texts and to do justice to themselves in the examinations.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
English and English Literature at GCSE, AS and A2. Art history at AS and A2.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
English and Fine Art. BA Hons. Post graduate Certificate in Education Distinction. PhD English literature.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £25 an hour, but offer half an hour free taster sessions. Travel fees to be worked out.
- Where do you teach?
I will teach in my own home, but am prepared to travel to a student's home if preferable. I live in Stroud and will tutor in Painswick, Cheltenham, Gloucester or Cirencester - a radius in Gloucestershire of roughly 25 miles.
- When are you available?
I will work Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6.30 pm. I an always willing to work in school holidays, when variable hours and days may be worked out individually to fit in with a student.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach from GCSE - 16 years old to AS and A2 - 17-18 years old, through to essay assistance and proof reading for University students -19 - 22 years of age.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
GCSE AS and A2.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I prefer one-to-one personal contact with a student but will correct exercises and essays etc., on line, should the need arise.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
As an Examiner the joy of reading essays that show personal, original, thought and understanding rather than internet or teacher notes are the magic papers. Never despair - but remember that commitment works, and in the end there are no short cuts to success!
