About Erica
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have 2 years of private tutoring experience and find it to be extremely enjoyable and rewarding.
In fact, my final year dissertation focused on how to improve the methods of teaching quantum mechanics to students of all grade levels. I developed a method which effectively identifies areas of difficulty and tackles them by having the student critically evaluate their responses, which also has the added benefit of developing strong problem-solving skills. This education research was also done along side veteran university professors from whom I gained valuable skills and insight into effective teaching.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I do not as of yet have an up-to-date DBS but will do shortly. Until then, references can be provided upon request.

I hold a First Class Degree in Physics from the University of St Andrews and enjoy sharing how wonderful and beautiful the physical world can be. I am very patient and enthusiastic and welcome students from all backgrounds and levels.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I primarily teach physics but will also help students who are struggling with their maths. To provide a sense of my tutoring approach, I aim to personalise each session to the individual`s needs and interests and, most importantly, to go at a comfortable pace.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
My qualifications include a First Class degree in Physics at one of the most highly ranked physics departments in the UK and the world and a published paper in a influential Physics Education Research journal.
- How much do you charge?
All consultations will be at a flat fee of £10 pounds, please note that travel charges will be added for journeys of 3+ miles.

- Where do you teach?
I am happy to teach the student wherever they feel most comfortable, whether this is at their home or another location of their choosing. Therefore, I am willing travel for the first 3 miles free of charge. I live in Greenwich but for weekday evening sessions will be coming from Camden.
- When are you available?
I am available Weekdays from 6:30 pm onwards and Weekends 9 am - 8 pm.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I welcome all levels and ages, from primary to undergraduate.
