Teaching for 6 six years - Business Studies and Accountancy at Colchester Sixth Form College, Bexley College and Hammersmith Management College (ACCA gold status college) and Cambridge Education Colleges in London

Yes - done in Feb 2010 - can show certificate

- Tell me about some of your current students.
I am teaching tax to a University of Kent student. Another student I have is studying accountancy for her Institute of Chartered Secretary qualification.
- What kind of experience do you have?
Before teaching I was a professional accountant. I was the Financial Controller to a chain of night clubs in South London. I had always wanted to be a teacher so in 2003 I decided to leave the profession to train as a teacher. I have been teaching accounting at schools and FE Colleges as well as doing freelance tutoring.
Most of my tutoring has been with ACCA exam students and University students preparing for final exams or resits in the Summer. Taxation and Financial Accounting are my most common subjects.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I had one done on me when I joined my present workplace in 2011. I can obtain a copy.

I am presently re-registering with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

I am a qualified teacher (PGCE) and ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) member who has taught accounting and business studies for 6 years.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
Accounting especially Taxation, Financial and Management Accounting and Business Strategy.
ACCA exam preparation (i got 72% in P2 - Advance corp accounting)
Business Studies A Level.
Economics A Level (my degree was in Economics!).
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I am fully qualified accountantt (ACCA- the toughest exams)
I have a POST GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION (teacher certificate) specialising in post-16 education from the Institute of Education, London (UNIVERSITY OF LONDON)
- How much do you charge?
Normally £25per hour but will not charge extra for 2-3 students. I also charge a £5 travel fee per session and require 2 hour minimum.
- Where do you teach?
In central london or Bromley area - evenings only. I can travel to most places in London.
- When are you available?
evenings only during academic year. More flexible in vacation periods
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
16 years + and adults. I am not qualified to teach children under 16.

ACCA, A Level, ICAEW, CIMA, AAT university level accounting
- Do you have a personal message for students?
To pass accounting you must practice - the tutor can only do so much. However a tutor can tell you what is important and explain the more complex area. I try to get the students to understand WHY it is done this particular way. This helps the students understand the logic.
Although I am fully qualified accountant I much prefer to teach then to practice!

I am a teacher at a central London school teaching Accounting and Business Studies in secondary and higher education. I was a professional accountant running a chain of night clubs before deciding to go into teaching. I love teaching!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Accounting, Business Studies and Economics. My degree was in Economics from the University of Toronto, the most prestigious school in Canada.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I qualified as an ACCA in Sept 2011. Presently my membership of the ACCA has lapsed but I am presently re-applying. I have a teaching qualification (PGCE) from the University of London (Institute of Education) since 2003. All certificates are available for inspection.
- How much do you charge?
I normally charge £30 an hour for a two hour minimum. But I allow a free 15 minute break. I do not charge extra for 2 students.
- Where do you teach?
I can teach anywhere in London. If you want to meet in central London I have located a quiet place in a Costa Coffee shop where we can meet. I am happy to teach in private homes
- When are you available?
In June I can see anyone in the evening week days. In July and August I am more flexible.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
all ages.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Exam technique is essential. Most questions can be answered using a standard action plan which can get you most of the marks. Practicing exam papers is also essential.
