My lecturer, Ezinma Mbonu (University for the Creative Arts) has been very inspirational because of her friendliness and ability to help me progress in my quality of work. As an international student, I have felt at ease with our communication as she guided me on my creative research by encouraging my strengths as well as in helping to improve my skills. The fashion Illustration classes have particularly benefited me and I'm very grateful for the successful projects created under her guidance.
Ezinma was a really helpful tutor, she would approach me often, giving me advice during my sessions with her on how to improve my drawing skills, not only from a technical and proportional aspect but also how to make them as dynamic and creative as possible. She encouraged me to develop a style of drawing that was individual and unique to me.
I can confirm that Ezinma Mbonu is employed by the University for the Creative Arts. She is the Coordinator of the Foundation and the First Year Course BA (Hons) Fashion.
Her influential educational drive helped me as an International student by encouraging me to solve my practical obscurity issues to unconventional ways of thinking. With an excellent patience and creative eye Ezinma taught garment design construction and .....cont.Ezinma has been an influential teacher and has encouraged me to develop my fashion illustration skills and design ability. Her illustration classes were a pleasure, as we explored a range of ways to achieve a strong fashion illustration and she encouraged each student to find their own illustration style. Ezinma has pushed me to expand my design development by exploring different silhouettes and proportions that resulted in forward thinking designs that I may not have considered or overlooked.
Ezinma was a valuable and resourceful 1st year tutor, as she managed to equip us with some great skills that are nowadays obligatory in the fashion industry. She organised useful workshops and classes for us, such as bookbinding, CAD introductions and life drawing to hone our skills for our portfolios and ultimately build up our employability. With her open and direct personality we learned how to deal with feedback and to use it constructively.
Ezinma taught me at the beginning of my degree and immediately established the benchmark for professionalism and presentation within our work. She challenged us to obtain, create and present visual imagery that was strong and multi faceted; this was a thread that ran through all the teaching areas. In illustration workshops I was encouraged to step out of the classic ways of approaching image making in order to be experimental with my style.........cont.
Ezinma has been one of the most inspiring tutors I have had throughout my time at university. As a personal tutor, she recognised your strengths and motivated you to keep challenging yourself. She always gave us the creative freedom to explore our ideas and come to our own conclusions whilst still offering advice and sharing her knowledge.
As a mentor, Ezinma taught me the importance of being a critical thinker; always to question and analyse what you see, read and hear.......contEzinma taught me in the first two years of my four-year degree at the University for the Creative Arts. My learning experience with Ezinma was a greatly beneficial challenge which equipped me with quintessential knowledge, fortitude and determination which would prove invaluable assets when faced with the ultimate challenge of my degree, my final year graduate collection.........cont.
I was fortunate enough to have Ezinma as a life drawing tutor, and as a personal tutor for projects and tutorials within my first couple of years studying at UCA. The experience and techniques I learnt from life drawing are ones which I have taken with me throughout my education and into building up my professional portfolio during 3rd year. Much of what I learnt here I would have never thought of myself, the main thing I remember is how fast the days seemed to go.....cont
Ezinma taught me for one year on the Fashion Promotion and Imaging foundation course. I found her teaching method very helpful and positive. She was very inspiring and clearly knew her subject very well and had first hand experience after working within the fashion industry for so many years. She was approachable and always gave good and helpful advice, if something was not correct she always followed it up with constructive criticism which made me feel much more positive about my work.
