Interview

Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach piano and chamber music. I am Italian and I really enjoy teaching Italian, grammar and literature, too.

Tell me about your qualifications.
I began studying the piano at 3 under the guidance of Graziella Bianchi and I was later admitted to the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatoire of Milan under Paolo Bordoni. In June 2004 I received her first academic degree in piano with top grades, cum laude, and special mention. I then continued my studies with Maestro Bordoni, with Ruggero Laganà in harpsichord, Emanuela Piemonti in chamber music and Danilo Lorenzini in composition. In July 2008 I received my first academic degree, with top grades cum laude, in vocal chamber music as pianist under Daniela Uccello.
I am currently attending the post graduate courses (which include a lecture on "the art of teaching") of the Royal College of Music in London under Nigel Clayton.
I have participated in master classes with important pianists such as Paul Badura-Skoda and Fou Ts’ong and have attended the “Luigi Angelini” masters courses in Città di Castello with Riccardo Risaliti and the Accademia Chigiana in Siena with Joaquin Achucarro.

I completed High School at the prestigious "Liceo Classico G. Carducci" in Milan with top mark and a special mention and then I attended the Faculty of Modern Literature at the State University in Milan.

What kind of experience do you have?
From my earliest years I have earned distinction in many national and international competitions, winning 14 first prizes. I have played in public from a very early age, performing recitals as soloist and in ensembles in Italy, UK, Switzerland and Japan. At 16 I made my début as soloist with the Rosetum Orchestra in Mozart’s Concerto K 415 and since then have performed as soloist with major orchestras. My three CDs, one as soloist and two with the italian violinist Francesca Dego, have been highly praised by critics and extracts from my second CD were used in the sound-track of the new film of award-winning American director Steven Kroschel, “The Beautiful Truth”. I have also performed in broadcasts on Radio Popolare, Radio Classica, the Italian Swiss Radio and RAI Radio 3.
I really love teaching as well and I have been teaching piano since I was 18. I have worked in "Sette Note" School in Milan with students from 5 to 16 years old and in my private practice I have been teaching adults and children.
I also have been teaching languages in a private practice.

How much do you charge?
I generally charge 20 for Italian and 25 for music (piano and chamber music), with 5 pounds extra for travelling.
The fees can be discussed depending on personal situation, number of students, age and level.

Where do you teach?
I can teach at home and at students' homes.
I am based in South Kensington, but I can travel (I don't have a car).

When are you available?
I can teach any day, any time of the day (from 9am to 9.30 pm).

Which ages and levels do you teach?
I have experience with all levels and ages, starting from 3 year old children.

Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
No
