- One to one guitar lessons in the West Midlands from professional musician with over 30 years of playing, recording, touring and teaching experience.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach electric and acoustic guitar in all styles but specifically vintage Americana such as blues, rockabilly, rock, rock n roll, country, swing, alternative, punk rock and pop etc.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have played all over the world fronting my own band for over 30 years.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have fronted my own band for over 30 years and have been teaching on and off for about 10 years. I have a wealth of useful knowledge regarding not just playing the guitar but with regard to equipment, how to get the sound and tone you are looking for, tips and tricks for fast learning and lots of other useful advice that will get you playing quickly.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge 11 pounds for half hour and 20 pounds for an hour when lessons are conducted out of my own home in Great Barr or at your home within the North Birmingham area. Lessons outside of the immediate area such as Walsall and Solihull etc are charged at 16 pounds for half hour and 25 pounds for the hour. Group discounts are available on request.
- Where do you teach?
- I am based in Great Barr Birmingham West Midlands and conduct lessons out of my home and at the homes of pupils. I will travel anywhere within the Birmingham area and also cover Walsall, Sutton Coldfield, Solihull, Sandwell, West Bromwich, etc
- When are you available?
- Lessons are available between 9am and 10pm everyday
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach all ages and all levels.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I have full CRB clearance and parents of children are more than welcome to sit in on the lesson should they so desire.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- Playing guitar should be fun so my methods for learning are aimed at getting you to play straight away with a fast simple approach to music. Once you have got a basic idea of the skills and techniques involved in playing the guitar then we start expanding and delving deeper into musical styles, tricks and tips, improvising and many other ways of getting the sound you hear in your head to come out of your hands and your guitar. So if you are a complete beginner looking to get started or someone who wants to tackle a new style, I have a lesson plan for you.
