About Gordon
- What kind of experience do you have?
I currently have a number of regular pupils that I teach privately as well as occasionally deputising as a teacher at the Trinity Laban Junior Department. I have extensive experience as a performer having performed in solo roles in both opera and concert situations. I feel that my professional work as a performer informs my teaching, and allows me to offer a unique perspective to my students. I have worked in many educational settings and have experience working with children. I feel that my experience both as a performer and teacher can be particularly beneficial to a student wishing to learn more about singing.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I am currently in the process of applying for a CRB disclosure certificate.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London with Linda Hirst and Robert Aldwinckle. I previously trained in Edinburgh with Eric von Ibler.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I currently teach a wide range of students from a 4 year old pianist to a 65 year old singer.

I am a committed, enthusiastic and friendly singing teacher who teaches all levels and a range of genres.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Classical singing at all levels. I can also teach other genres such as musical theatre as well as beginners piano and music theory.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have recently graduated with a BMus (Hons) in Vocal Performance (First Class Honours) from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London, and have been studying classical singing for 11 years. I have also recently achieved the Licentiate of Trinity College London in Teaching - a degree-level qualification in instrumental and vocal teaching.
- How much do you charge?
I charge 30 pounds per hour long lesson or 20 pounds per half hour. I charge an additional amount for travel depending on distance and time etc.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at my own home in Blackheath or at the student's home. I am willing to teach in any area in London and in particular Greenwich, Blackheath, Lee, Kidbrooke, Woolwich, Charlton, Lewisham, Eltham, Borough, London Bridge and the South East.
- When are you available?
As a freelance musician, my timetable is flexible. Please contact me for further information about my availability.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach any age and any level.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I am happy to prepare students for ABRSM or Trinity Guildhall examinations.
