Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach A-level and AS-level Biology, Biology Diploma in Higher Education, and have also tutored undergraduate students in Biological Sciences or students preparing for university entrance exams. Can also include AS-level Chemistry.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a First Honours Degree in Human Genetics from UCL, and currently I'm doing a PhD in a Biomedical sciences subject.
My teaching qualifications include completion of Student Associate Scheme by the Teaching Development Agency.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have several years of experience in private tutoring of both A-level and Undergraduate students, and also working with students with differing study requirements such as dyslexia.
I also have an understanding of the specific requirements of the different exam boards due to my work experience at a Secondary school and Sixth Form college.
How much do you charge?
I charge £25 per one hour lesson, and no extra fees for travel.
Where do you teach?
I can teach at student's homes or libraries and coffee shops in West Norwood, Gipsy Hill, Dulwich, Crystal Palace, Streatham, Tulse Hill, Balham, and Clapham Junction. I can also travel to homes or coffee shops located close to Richmond, Twickenham, Feltham or Staines train stations.
When are you available?
I am available in the mornings (9 to 10am) and evenings (6 to 9pm) during the week, Saturday mornings, and throughout school holidays.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach AS-level and A-level, and can teach pupils from the age of 16 upwards, including mature students.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I have a full recent CRB disclosure certificate.
Tell me about some of your current students.
Currently I am tutoring some mature students returning to higher education, supporting their evening and distance-learning courses.
I'm also tutoring local A-level students, some with specific learning needs.
