About Linda

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have twenty years experience of being a Senior University Lecturer; teaching on many varied courses in Health and Health and Social Care/Health Promotion/Public Health and also writing various health courses within the Higher Education arena.

I have taught pre and post registration courses in Nursing and Midwifery and was Course Leader for the Return to Practice for Nurses course for 5 years..

I have been an External Examiner for health courses at another University. I am very dedicated to study skills and helping students achieve their full potential.
I was a practicing midwife (and previously a nurse) for 12 years in all clinical areas so I understand the intrinsic academic skill of applying theory to clinical practice ,whatever health professional career is chosen.

I was a Senior University Lecturer until 2014 and am now enjoying helping students achieve their goals on a one to one basis.

Prior to going into teaching I began my career as a Nurse and later trained as a Midwife on moved across to midwifery where I practiced for 12 years. I was a Sister Midwife in all areas of midwifery before transferring into teaching and therefore I understand the application of academic knowledge to professional practice.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

I have not needed a DBS check to do my work since I was in practice as a Midwife some years ago.I teach adults.

- Where and with whom did you train?

My Nursing and Midwifery training and Careers were in Wakefield.

However, my career as a Senior University Lecturer was at Huddersfield University.

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

I am a Member of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists

- Tell me about some of your current students.
