Drum Teacher and Drum Tuition Peterborough - Ian Jonas

My son Dax has been having lessons with Ian for 5 months and has significantly improved in all his drumming skills. Ian is a fantastic teacher and has a real passion for drumming. This is always obvious as he is constantly enthusiastic about the music and his pupils.

Dax was struggling slightly with some technical exercises originally, however thanks to Ian's guidance with counting in your head and developing the skills of triplets and paradiddles he has improved a lot in that aspect of his drumming.

Since starting to play the drums I have been taught by Ian. I have progressed from basic drumming to performing successful gigs in a 6 piece band, all in 3 years. All his lessons have been tailored to my needs, initially learning to play the drums at a basic level, then onto, in some cases, complicated numbers that we now perform in the band. Taught in a friendly, accommodating environment with excellent kit, a highly recommended and friendly instructor.

I have been having drum lessons with Ian for nearly a year. He has taught me many different styles of drumming, how to read drum music and play along to a click track. He is great at helping me with my college work, as at present I am studying at PRC for a qualification in 'Music Performance' as a drummer. Ian is a very enthusiastic teacher and has enabled me to be more confident as a drummer. Thanks to Ian I am now rehearsing with a couple of bands and hope to be performing live very soon.

Ian is a superb drum teacher. My son aged 7 has been taught by him for 6 months and I am amazed at my sons progress and ability. The ease and fluidity with which Ian has taught my son is remarkable. Ian's teaching methods are well thought out and easy to understand keeping a steady forward progression without unpleasant pressure, taking into account my son's level of understanding. Ian always makes the lessons interesting and fun with lots of encouragement.

I love my drums lessons! Ian explains what we are learning very clearly and also Ian makes me confident whenever he teaches me.

When I finish my drum lesson I always say 'I love his lessons!'

Ian has prepared me for my grading really quickly. I have found grading easier because we have covered notation, triplets, sixteenths, fills, rhythms, half time shuffle and other things that I'm confident with now such as paradiddles.

I think Ian is a fantastic teacher.
