Personal Message
I have a great passion for all of my subjects, and I consider it a privilege to share this enthusiasm with students of all ages! I have about 5 years of intermittent teaching experience.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
- Piano
- Composition
- Music Theory (up to A-level/ABRSM theory exams)
- Mathematics (up to GCSE level)
- Japanese (for beginners)
Tell me about your qualifications.
Last year, I graduated with Honours from the Royal College of Music with the Bachelor of Music degree. I left Wells Cathedral School in 2006 with A grades for A-levels in Music, Maths, and Further Maths. Whilst I have no formal qualifications in Japanese, I have been studying the language for almost 5 years with the aid of the large Japanese community in College. I have a very thorough understanding of Japanese idioms and grammar.
What kind of experience do you have?
At the end of last year I performed my own Piano Concerto with a local chamber orchestra. Whilst at College I performed several recitals, both solo and with other performers, and in May last year I played Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 20 with the Oxford Chamber Orchestra. I have been composing for many years, mostly pieces for solo piano, one of which recently premiered in Japan. Recently I have composed works for piano and choir, piano and string orchestra, as well as piano and string quartet.

I have taught piano to a number of students in London, including a 6 year old and an adult beginner. In total I have about 5 years of intermittent experience teaching piano, and at the Royal College of Music I attended seminars on "The Art of Teaching Piano". I recently applied to Blue Tutors, who awarded me the highest possible level on their teaching assessment.
How much do you charge?
- £25/h for piano lessons,
- £20/h for maths, music theory, academic music and composition,
- £10/h for beginners Japanese.

I do most of my travelling by bike so I will not usually charge extra for travel expenses. I charge the same rate for lessons longer or shorter than one hour (e.g. 30 mins piano tuition is £12.50, 30 mins maths tutoring is £10 etc.).
Where do you teach?
I travel to students homes in and around Euston. I also travel to Northfields, Islington and Central London, as well as West and South West London. I do most of my travelling by bike so only rarely will I need to charge extra for travel.
When are you available?
