About Jane
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have experience teaching children from the ages of 3 to adult beginners and advanced players.
As a recent Head of Music, I am well equipped to teach students with SEN needs
I am experienced at teaching students who wish to follow a career in Music.
I have many years experience as a performer; soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player, performing in the UK and abroad.

I hold an up to date DBS certificate and have recent sageguarding training.

- Tell me about some of your current students.
I have a successful record of teaching students to enjoy and be able to perform with confidence. My GCSE and A Level success rate equals this, with many students achieving grades well above their predictions. Each lesson is tailored to the needs of the individual students.

I am a cellist and teacher with nearly 20 years teaching experience. I am Assistant Head of Junior Programmes at the Royal College of Music and have recently moved to the area.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach cello from beginners to advanced level, preparing students for exams, concerts, competitions and Conservatoire auditions.
I teach Piano up to grade 8.
I teach GCSE and A Level music, composition, aural analysis and history.
I teach musicianship and Theory preparing students for ABRSM exams to grade 8.
I teach chamber music, with a specialism in Piano Trios and String Quartets
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I studied at the Purcell School of Music and was an Associated Board Scholar at the Royal College of Music where I obtained my BMus (Hons) RCM.
In 2008 I trained to become a qualified classroom teacher through the GTP programme and hold a postgraduate QTS.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £40 per hour for one hour lessons
I charge £25 for 30 minute lessons
- Where do you teach?
I teach at home, where I have a Yamaha U1 for pianists and accompanists.
- When are you available?
I am available on Sundays and Mondays and some evenings.
