Here is some feedback from students attending my London Jazz Guitar Society workshops ((concealed information)
"Really informative and interesting workshop. David is a great teacher. Thanks for organising these events." - James (London Jazz Guitar Society member)
"Great workshop highly recommended. David runs an informative well paced lesson, concentrating on often overlooked - and really useful - areas such as rhythmic awareness (including displacement and rhythmic independence) triads and their inversions over the whole neck. Including practical examples showing how to apply these skills in a clear and easy to remember way" - Trevor (London Jazz Guitar Society member)
"Hi David, excellent lesson, really enjoyed the workshop last night. Covered different rhythms, modes of the major scale, conceptualising triads from the major scale over various chords and different harmonisations of triads." - Arthur (London Jazz Guitar Society member)
"Excellent - a really enjoyable session, with valuable tips and plenty of stuff to go away and practise! Looking forward to next week....." - Chris (London Jazz Guitar Society member)

- Do you have a personal message for students?
I have many years experience as a teacher, however I am first and foremost a student of music. I always will be. There is no end to the path. The more you know the more you discover there is to know.
I believe the job of the teacher is to guide the student to finding the right path. The only difference between student and teacher is that the teacher is further along the path. There are many blind alleys along the way and a student can easily get lost and waste precious time. A good teacher helps the student stay on track and make the best progress possible. Most of the learning takes place outside the lesson in the student's own practice room so it is essential to know how to practise effectively.
Learning jazz guitar takes hard work and dedication. There are no short cuts but with the right guidance you can make noticeable improvements in a few months.
I treat each student as an individual with different strengths and weaknesses. I create a structured a practice schedule that is specific to each student and is based on the student's preferred learning style.
