About Maria
- What kind of experience do you have?
Starting from 2009 I undertook a music pathway at Music Academy, an italian school in which I was able to take Edexcel exams in Music Performance, Aural Perception Skills, Music Theory and Harmony, Live Music Workshop, Marketing and Promotion in the Music Industry, Music and Society.
Between 2010 and 2011 I started to write my own songs since there was the possibility to take part in a compilation, promoted by “Magazzini Musicaliâ€, a studio located in Bologna, the city where I was living.
In Bologna I started also my first live gigs with an acoustic duo, in which we offered covers of pop songs in a soul/blues key.
During the last two years I worked as private singing teacher and I had the possibility to meet new musicians with whom I created two performance projects: “Mary goes to Hellâ€, focused on rock music and “Manitwanaâ€, based on soul and r'n'b music.
Last July 2013 I took class at Berklee Summer School during Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia. I'm currently working as private teacher and session singer, in addition to my new original project.

Yes, I belong to the The Musicians' Union.
