About Jessie
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been tutoring in London for the last 3 years, teaching KS3 English, GCSE English Literature and Language, and AS and A-Level English Literature. Many of my students have seen greatly improved grades - one recently achieved an A at GCSE after being predicted a C.
I also have over 2 years of TEFL for all ages from kindergarten to adults, in both classroom and private situations. I have a further 10 years experience of child-minding, and have also worked as a volunteer in youth theatre projects.

I am a freelance teacher and writer with a 1st class BA in English Literature and a Distinction-grade MA in Journalism. At university I specialized in Shakespeare and other Early Modern dramatists, but I am well-read across the whole canon.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach KS3 English, GCSE English Literature and English Language and AS and A-level English Literature.
I also teach EFL (English as a Foreign Language), including the IELTS and TOEFL exams.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I graduated from Goldsmiths with a Distinction-grade MA in Journalism. I also have a 1st class BA degree in English from the University of Sussex, and I have A-levels in English Literature (A), Music (A), and Government and Politics (B).
- How much do you charge?
I charge £25 per hour.
- Where do you teach?
I am based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. I can come to students homes or they can come to mine. I can also travel to Todmorden, Mytholmroyd, Sowerby Bridge and Luddendenfoot.
- When are you available?
My timetable is very flexible. I am happy to work evenings and weekends as well as weekdays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I have most experience teaching older teenagers, but I enjoy teaching any age.
