About Jo
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught the piano privately for some time, and have successfully entered many students for grade exams and local music festivals over the years. Some of my students have been accepted into the secondary schools of their choice due to their achievements at the piano.
But music making shouldn't all be about exams - I also work hard to find as many performing opportunities as I can for my students so they can put all their hard work at the piano into practical use, making music with others.
I also enjoy teaching retired people who are interested in learning a new skill with their new-found free time.

I'm happy to teach children from age four and upwards - maturity permitting, of course. I also teach adult beginners - it's never too late to learn something new.

I teach Piano, Electric Keyboards and Theory.

BA Music (Hons) - Bristol University (1998)
Certificate of the Practical Piano Teaching Course (EPTA/ Purcell School) (2009)
Dip ABRSM (Piano Performance) (2015)
- How much do you charge?
My hourly rate is £25/ hour, £15/ half hour. Trial lessons for children are free (if at my home).
£2.50 additional fee for travel - to Greenhithe only.
- Where do you teach?
I teach mostly at home in central Dartford. I also teach at students homes in Greenhithe.
- When are you available?
I am available on all weekdays, and also on Saturday mornings.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach from age 4 (maturity level allowing) upwards.
I teach from complete beginners up to ABRSM Grade 8.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare students for both ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall piano exams.
