About Joanna

- What kind of experience do you have?

In 2006, I started my course at Winchester University in Primary Education specialising in Early Years. This included placements in a variety of schools and nurseries throughout the four years at university.

I have gathered a range of valuable experiences, from working in a village school of 130 pupils; to a three-form system entry school with ninety children in reception. I have taught a range of ages and planned a variety of lessons. I was diagnosed with dyslexia at a late stage but feel this has been beneficial to me, as I have empathy and understanding of how dyslexic students may feel. From January 2008, I worked for a Babysitting agency in Winchester. During my time for the agency I took children to school as well as picking them up at the end of the day. I have also working in a variety of Nurseries including a specialist Montessori Nursery.

During 2014, I went back to college to complete a Diploma In Teaching and Learning In The Lifelong Learning Sector. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and have gained a wealth of experience in supporting disabled students since 2010. I have QTLS - Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills.

I am currently completing a course through Dyslexia Action.

In the world of technology, I keep up to date with new tablets, smartphones, and laptops. I also teach and demonstrate a range of applications to help students with their studies.

In 2013 I formed Dragonfly Educational Support (South Coast) LTD. I am the director of the company supporting disabled students with study skills strategies and on their Assistive Technology. I have designed and created our website for the company as well as created a curriculum for the assistive technology that I teach. I also provide study skills students with handouts that I have designed. My website displays student feedback (concealed information)
