About John-Paul
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught French at both Heathcote High School in Chingford and St Michael's in Bermondsey at GCSE level and have tutored KS3, GCSE and A level privately.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I do have an up-to-date DBS Certificate and can provide this if necessary.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I am currently tutoring Eren who is 11 years old and has just moved school and helping him get up to speed with the rest of his class in French quickly! I am also tutoring Alexandra, 12 years old, who is learning French with confidence and fluency and looking forward to helping her mum and dad out when they go on holiday to France this summer.

Bonjour, Je m'appelle JP and I've been tutoring French for a number of years in classrooms, homes and cafes. As an Englishman who loves France I can teach you how and why they speak as they do, and to speak as they do, en français!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach French.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I hold a BA (Hons) in European Studies and French from the University of Manchester, for which I was awarded a II:i classification, and an MA in Acting from East 15 Acting School, for which I was awarded a distinction.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £50 an hour and this includes my travel and travelling time across London.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at your home or at the Barbican in central London. I'm happy to travel up to an hour from my home in south-east London and this generally means that zones 1, 2 and 3 in London are covered, though zones 4 and 5 may be also should the travel not be too long or complex for me.
- When are you available?
I am available weekday evenings and weekends. I can also do lunchtimes in central London.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach KS3, GCSE and A level and so from 11-18 years old. I also teach beginners, intermediate and beyond though at most ages and am available for conversation and speaking practice at any level.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare my students for any examination at KS3 and for GCSE and A level.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Learning another language, whatever language it might be, is fun and helps you understand much more about your own language, who you are and how you express yourself. The French express themselves with style, flair and an insouciant je ne sais quoi, all the while enjoying themselves and taking the most from life. That's what you'll get with my lessons!
