Personal Message: My name is Jolanta and I am a professional harpist based in Essex. I hope you enjoy reading my interview answers and look forward to the opportunity to speak with you about your learning needs.
Which subject(s) do you teach?: Harp (both pedal and lever) and Piano.
Tell me about your qualifications.: I have a Master of Music from the Latvian National Academy of Music. In addition I gained an Advanced Instrumental Studies Diploma and Concert Recital Diploma for the Harp from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I also won the Premier Prix prize for the Harp.
What kind of experience do you have?: I have tutored students of all ages for over 18 years on both the Harp and Piano.
How much do you charge?: £25 per hour or £15 for half an hour.
Where do you teach?: I teach from my home. However I can be flexible with the times and can offer daytimes and early evenings.
When are you available?: I teach in the evening or weekends depending upon my other commitments.
Which ages and levels do you teach?: All ages from 6 upwards.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?: It depends on the student's requirements. I am happy teaching just for pleasure or for grades.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?: Enhanced CRB disclosure.
Where and with whom did you train?: I trained in Latvia at the Latvian Academy of Music. I was principal Harpist at the Latvian National symphony Orchestra for five years before moving to the UK. I them continued my studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (GSMD) under the famous Harpist David Watkins.
Do you have a personal message for students?: I like to tailor my lessons to each students needs, level and style. I can teach for pleasure or exams. It is each student's choice. I just want people to enjoy their lessons. I can coach for LCM and Trinity exams.
