Personal Message
I'm currently studying at Trinity Conservatoire in Greenwich, London. I provide tuition on the violin and also freelance around London
Which subject(s) do you teach?
Violin from beginner up to university level
Music at academic level: Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level
ABRSM performance exams, grades 1-8
ABRSM music theory exams, grades 1-8
Tell me about your qualifications.
I completed a Bachelors degree in Music at The University of Sheffield in 2009, achieving a 2:1
In 2010, I completed a Masters in Musical Performance, achieving a Merit
In January 2011, I completed an LRSM Diploma (Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music) in Performance on the violin
I am currently undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance
What kind of experience do you have?
17 years practising and performing on the violin, including paid performances, a wide range of ensemble work and performances at respected venues including The Royal Albert Hall.
As a recent university graduate and a current conservatoire student I am well placed to give advice on applying and auditioning for either institution.
During the past five years, I have given tuition on the violin, spanning a wide range of abilities and ages; from 5-21 years old. I have had two work experience placements at a primary and secondary school and I worked as a Residential Mentor and a Care Worker whilst studying at university.
I have been taught by some of the top conservatoire teachers in the country including Diane Cummings, Dona Lee Croft, Claire Thompson, Peter Cropper and Robin Ireland. I have developed my approach to tuition through observing their teaching methods.
How much do you charge?
For lessons at my house I charge: £25 per hour for instrumental tuition; £25 per hour for A Level instruction; £18 per hour for Key Stage 3 Music; £20 per hour for GCSE Music.
If you would prefer to have lessons at your own house, I charge an additional £5 per hour to cover travel costs; for example, £30 per hour for instrumental tuition.

For the first lesson with any new student, I charge half price, for example, an instrumental lesson would be £12.50 instead of £25. This is only for the first lesson.
Where do you teach?
I teach at my house at Crystal Palace. I can also offer lessons at students' homes in South London and Surrey including Croydon, Bromley, Norwood, Dulwich, Balham, Wandsworth, Clapham, Sutton and Battersea. I study in Greenwich and so I can potentially teach students in this area also. I am not restricted solely to these areas.
When are you available?
My timetable is flexible but I am usually busy with college on Wednesdays. I can teach on both weekdays and the weekend.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach from beginner up to undergraduate university level.
I have no restrictions regarding age range; all students are welcome.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM practical and theoretical examinations, ABRSM diplomas, youth orchestra auditions and college undergraduate auditions.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
My most recent CRB check was in 2010, when I worked as a Care Worker and Residential Mentor.
