Personal Message
I am a friendly, experienced and motivated musician who is keen to teach people of all ages and levels.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the Cello.
My teaching approach however will often cover a wide range of subjects related to the cello - general musicianship/theory, orchestral advice, technique, performance preperation, repertoire, exams etc...
Tell me about your qualifications.
I completed my Undergraduate degree at Trinity College of Music and am currently studying for my Masters at the Royal Academy of Music.
I also have Grade 8 Distinction on the Violin and Grade 5 on the Piano.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have a large amount of experience playing the cello at the highest level in orchestras, chamber ensembles, solo performances and recording studios.

Please see my website for more detailed information and recent performances!

Regarding teaching, I currently work for Wandsworth School’s Music with whom I have led the ‘Wider Opportunites’ scheme in primary schools and tutored for their Saturday Music Centre.
For the last year and a half I have also held the ‘Strings Assistant’ position with The Intermediate Learning Orchestra where I advise the adult amateur string section and conduct sectional rehearsals.
How much do you charge?
£30 an hour.
I offer a free consultation lesson for anyone interested in learning with me - this will give us the chance to discuss your musical ambitions (however big or small) and give you an insight into my teaching style.
Note that after this lesson there is no obligation to continue learning with me! It is very important to find a teacher who is right for you.
Where do you teach?
I travel to my students and am happy to go anywhere in London Zones 1-3, although there is a possibility of exceptions on request.
When are you available?
My schedule is constantly changing so lessons are booked on a week by week basis.
It is however, quite likely that we will be able to organise a regular lesson time.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I have experience teaching primary aged children and adult amateurs - but would be happy teaching any age and any level from beginner to advanced!
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes. I have a valid CRB with Wandsworth Music Service and the Royal Academy of Music.
Where and with whom did you train?
I was taught by Joely Koos for 4 years and am currently studying with Mats Lidstrom at the Royal Academy of Music.
I have also taken part in many masterclasses, competitions and intensive summer courses.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I currently teach 3 adult beginner cellists and an intermediate violin student.
