Which subject(s) do you teach?
Violin,viola and chamber music. I also teach creative processes, composition and improvisation.

What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught the violin privately for twenty years, preparing students for grade exams and entrance onto specialist music courses.
I have also taught in schools and created my own world music string project.
I have coached chamber music for the Mary Ward Centre, and groups in schools,Youth Orchestra and saturday music centres.
I teach composition and improvisation privately and have also tutored in this for Thames music service.

I have had a broad playing career, working for many orchestras, opera and ballet. I lead the Auralio String Quartet and have given many chamber music concerts. I have also played for many different types of recording sessions, pop, classical and creative which includes improvisation and put on concerts that include performances of my own pieces.


How much do you charge?
£30 per hr and visiting fee if I go out of my immediate area.

£15 per half hr.

Where do you teach?
I teach at your home. I come to you.
Will travel to Islington.
I will also visit the centre of London if possible.


When are you available?

Which ages and levels do you teach?
On the violin I teach 5 years upward. Beginners to diploma standard. I love it all.

I teach creative music subjects to any age, to a wide level of creativity.
I teach to College entrance standard.


Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
Associated board exams.

Entrance to special music courses or music college.


Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes.


Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I use Skype for online tutoring. Composition and theory can be e mailed using Sibelius and then chat using Skype.

Where and with whom did you train?
I studied the Violin at the Royal College of music with John Ludlow and took part in master classes with Dorothy Delay and the Chilingirian String quartet.

I studied leadership, composition and improvisation at Guildhall school of music and drama, and I studied composition and improvisation at Brunel University under Peter Wiegold and Harold Muenz.


Tell me about some of your current students.
My creative processes student has just gained entrance to the Royal Northern College of music to study composition. Bravo!

I have lots of violin and viola students that take exams and play Orchetras and groups..
