Desmond tutored my son for nine months prior to his A level maths exams. He was able to explain what he needed to know,
he motivated him and gave him confidence in his abilities and helped with exam technique. My son's grades improved from a D in his AS levels to an A in his A levels helping him to secure his university place where he is now in his second year. Desmond helped my daughter ( Y5+Y6) to catch up with the Maths she had missed while we lived abroad and helped to prepare her for the 11 + exams so that she found it an easier task (as she was sitting for 7 schools). Desmond tutored my daughter on her GCSE and AS/A level maths. She found the weekly lessons motivating and was able to discuss and debate the questions and answers freely with Des. I think this approach meant that she understood the subject rather than just be 'taught parrot fashion' to obtain the answers. Des helped her to get a good foundation while making the lessons fun and challenging.
