About Guillermina
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have eight years' experience teaching children and adults, with a 100% success rate in exam and audition entries of different kinds. I have taught every grade in the ABRSM syllabus successfully, with a very high rate of distinctions, as well as the ABRSM Diploma, and prepare students for auditions for places such as the Junior Royal College of Music, Junior Royal Academy, Purcell School and Winchester College.
I currently teach in four schools every week as well as having my private practice. I coach ensembles and orchestras and participate in outreach projects for charity, both in the UK and internationally.
As a performer, I play in orchestras and chamber ensembles. Although I play all types of music, I specialise in Contemporary repertoire and have recently premiered three chamber pieces, including one opera.
In 2009 I co-designed a music education programme to increase instrumental tuition in schools and in 2010 I co-founded Cactus Music School, which runs courses for children during school holidays as well as private tuition and adult evening classes.
I also work for London Music Masters, a charity that provides instruments and teachers to children in schools in poorer areas of London.
