Personal Message: I am a highly trained teacher to help provide English language solutions for your Business or Academic needs.
Which subject(s) do you teach?: I specialize in English as a Foreign Language, Design Technology, Engineering and Special Educational Needs. In the subject of EFL I prepare lessons around Total English Upper Intermediate and Advanced, supported with IELTS Materclass (Oxford) and IELTS grammer (Cambridge). I prepare a combination of this work and present in a comb bound booklet that best targets students needs. All lessons are conducted using a laptop and projector.
I am also qualified and experienced to teach Technology in Secondary school. I specialize in Resistant Materials, Control and Systems and Graphics.
Tell me about your qualifications.: I have a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Secondary Technology. This is supported with an MSc in Mechanical Engineering and BEng Computer Aided Engineering.
What kind of experience do you have?: I have taught in state schools and colleges for five years and been tutoring English for two years. I have taught from primary to A-level in Technology in the public sector. In addition to this I have two years Special Educational Needs experience which includes college level teaching numeracy and literacy. Then in the last two years I have taught English on a private basis.
How much do you charge?: I charge £20 per hour as a basic fee but this can be negotiable on long term intensive teaching contracts and group work is at £12 per hour. Travel is approximately half hourly rate. I also provide support for University and IELTS application form filling and submission for half hourly rate.
Where do you teach?: My teaching environment is based in Swansea City I teach in my studio apartment overlooking the bay, this is a relaxed environment for learning to take place. I offer fresh ground coffee at break time to my students to maintain a professional atmosphere and relaxed learning enviroment. The lessons are presented on computor and projector, with supporting booklets, also on-line through Skype to help with time zones and distance learning with all files sent to your email account.
When are you available?: I am available on a 9am until 6pm basis, but can accommodate students needs in the evenings or weekends as required on-line with Skype.
Which ages and levels do you teach?: I teach primary school through to adults, this is in the subjects of English and Technology.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?: I prepare students for GCSE, A-Level, City and Guilds, ESOL entry 3 Skills for life, City and Guilds, FCE and IELTS.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?: Yes.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.: I teach English language over Skype after sending all the appropriate files your email account.
Where and with whom did you train?: I trained in Swansea University for my CELTA and the Swansea Institute for my PGCE in Technology. My teaching training was undertaken in Morriston and Gowerton Comprehensive schools and my English training was carried out at Swansea University.
Tell me about some of your current students.: Currently I am preparing students for IELTS Academic who look set to sit their exams in soon. I also teach students On-line from various nationalities.
