Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach English Literature at A Level and English Literature and Language at GCSE.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have an Honours Degree in English, an MA in Post Modernism in English Literature and a PGCE teaching qualification.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching English for twenty two years. I was Head of English at a Further Education College in North London.
I have also taught GCSE English students and A Level students privately on a one to one basis.
I am an examiner for OCR at A Level and I have examined for AQA GCSE English. I am also an examiner for IBS and International Cambridge Board
I also teach for Justin Craig Revision Course during the Easter break
How much do you charge?
I charge £30.00 for A Level and £25 for GCSE inclusive of travel.
Where do you teach?
I teach at students' homes. I am prepared to travel to the Brighton and Hove area and outlying areas of Worthing. I travel to students' homes by car.
When are you available?
I am available during the week at any time and at the weekends if no alternative arrangements can be made.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach 16 - 19 A Level and GCSE.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I have a CRB disclosure certificate.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I have a Mac i Book G4 and am on wireless. I have also tutored ex students online.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I have just finished teaching five students. One of whom gained an A* for English AS and I will be teaching her again this term to complete her A Level program.
The other four all passed their GCSE English and three gained As and one Bs for Literature and Language.
Do you have a personal message for students?
The best way to teach is with patience, empathy and understanding. Students are under many pressures these days to succeed in exams but English is a fascinating subject, and I try to help students to understand and enjoy the texts as well as help them to pass their exams.
