About Pat
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching English for thirty. I was Head of English and Communications at Barnet Further Education College in North London.
I have also taught GCSE English students, A Level students, and younger students for the Common Entrance Exam.
I am an examiner for OCR at A Level and I have examined AQA GCSE English. I am also a Senior Examiner for the IB and the International Cambridge Board
I also teach at Justin Craig Revision Course during the Easter break which specialises in coaching students for GCSE and A Level

I have a CRB disclosure certificate.

Middlesex Polytechnic and Garnett Teacher Training.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I am currently teaching four GCSE students, two who are re-sitting the November GCSE retake. I am also teaching A level WJEC Literature. I am also teaching two Year 9 students and two Year 11s. The syllabus for their GCSE is AQA I also teach OCR, CIE, Edexcel and the IB

I am a motivated, committed and enthusiastic tutor believing that I can get the best out of my students no matter what level of skills they have.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach English Literature at A Level and English Literature and Language at GCSE. I also help younger students with the Common Entrance Exam. I am also a Senior Examiner in English for the IB and CIE
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have an Honours Degree in English, an MA in Post Modernism in English Literature and a PGCE teaching qualification. A diploma in Creative Writing.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £32.00 for A Level, £27 for GCSE inclusive of travel
- Where do you teach?
I teach at students' homes. I am prepared to travel to the Worthing and outlying areas. I travel to students' homes by car. Fuel expenses are included in the charges above.
Students can also be taught at my home.
- When are you available?
I am available during the week at any time and at the weekends.

I teach 16 - 19 A Level and GCSE, and younger students between 9 and 11

I have a Mac. I have also tutored ex students online but I prefer one to one tutoring

I always think that the best way to teach is with patience, empathy and understanding. As students you are under many pressures these days to succeed but English is a fascinating subject, and I will always try my best to help you understand and enjoy the books, as well as ensure you pass your exams by improving your writing skills and understanding of what is required to get the best results you can achieve. I provide many resources and helpful tips to pass the exams and will always go the extra mile to ensure your success.
